Holiday Festivities in Chicago

With the holidays fast approaching, there are so many activities and festivals that it can be hard to keep up with or choose which ones to attend. We’ve put together a list of our favorite holiday events in the city, in hopes that you are able to catch some holiday cheer and joy with you and yours!

McCormick Tribune Ice Rink– Grab your jacket and lace up your skates for some fun that everyone will enjoy in Millennium Park! November 13-March 7

Christkindlmarket– This market is Chicago’s largest open-air market and a favorite of locals and tourists! Featuring authentic German food and drink, it also has iconic items such as nutcrackers, clocks, beer steins, ornaments, crafts, and much more. November 20 to December 24

Lincoln Park Zoo Lights– An annual winter tradition in the city, the Lincoln Park Zoo has thousands of lights, ice carving demonstrations, hot beverages, and ice skating! December 4-6, 11-23, 26-31; January 1-3

A Christmas Carol- For the 38th year, The Goodman Theatre presents this timeless holiday classic. November 14- December 27

Chicago Trolley Holiday Lights Tour– This narrated tour runs about 2.5 hours and takes you to see Chicago’s gorgeous holiday lights and sights. Sights on the tour include the Magnificent Mile, Macy’s Holiday Windows, the John Hancock Center Tree, Daley Plaza, Millennium Park and more! Stops at Christkindlmarket and the Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park make this a treat for the whole family.

Christmas Around the World See more than 50 trees and displays at the Museum of Science and Industry’s annual “Christmas Around the World” exhibit! A mix of holiday music will play while “snow” falls every half hour. November 19- January 3

Caroling at Cloud GateBundle up and get ready to sing along with some holiday classics with some of Chicago’s local choral groups! Santa, himself, will be there! After the music is over you can even head on over to the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink for some more fun. December 4, 11, and 18

HoliDose Market–  The holiday editions of the Dose Market are a great way to find unique gifts for those on your list! From jewelry, clothing, home goods, and more, the best local artisans and city’s food vendors are all here. December 13

Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier– Want some indoor fun this season? Head on over to the Navy Pier for 170,000 square feet of Chicago Blackhawks Ice Skating, more than 24 rides, and much more! December 5- January 10
